This is a rematch of each individual’s first fight on the page. The T-1000 wound up erasing itself from existence in battle against the Tin Woodman of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz fame. But now the T-1000 is back and reigning champion of this section, so it’s time for some vengeance against his old foe. The Tin Woodman, however, might have other plans.

Teddy Roosevelt was a little bit of everything: soldier, pioneer, environmentalist, president, warmonger. He has mowed down all competition that has come his way and continues an undefeated march in the Contest of Champions. The T-1000 has no hopes of going undefeated, as he previously lost to the Tin Woodman (maybe…time travel’s complicated stuff). He did however defeat Venom to earn his shot at becoming a champion.
Venom defeated Spider-Man under the guarantee that the winner of that fight would then get to beat the ever-loving Hell out of me. I have no intention of actually following through on said guarantee, however. As a result, I’ve decided to hire out a bodyguard or two. My bodyguard of choice is the T-1000 from Terminator 2, which is a nigh-unstoppable killing machine capable of shaping his body into almost any form. His simple task: kill Venom. Venom’s task: don’t get killed. Let’s see which one will succeed.

What matters for this fight is that we have Conan the Barbarian versus the T-800 in a matchup of Schwarzenegger’s early (and some would argue best) roles. Conan is a warrior, a wanderer, and eventually a king in the land of Hyboria who seeks nothing more than to crush his enemies, see them driven before him, and hear the lamentations of their women. The T-800 is a cold, ruthless killing machine – in many ways a kindred spirit to Conan, although as a robot it doesn’t actually have a spirit. Continue reading
The Tin Woodman of Oz is ultimately a tragic character. He was once a man deeply in love with a woman, but the Wicked Witch of the East enchanted his axe to cut off his limbs and ultimately kill him. Rebuilt by a tinsmith, this bastard child of magic and tin is now the kind-hearted ruler of the Winkies. He is also a badass when he has his axe in his hands. Facing off against him is the T-1000, a liquid metal version of the Terminator that has the capability of changing shape. Ever on the hunt for John Connor, the T-1000 is a nigh unstoppable and ruthlessly efficient killing machine. Continue reading
