Review Roundup: World War Hulk Prologue
With Planet Hulk wrapped up, I’m moving along in my reviews to World War Hulk. On the up side, it happens to be my favorite Marvel crossover event. On the down side, when I first read it, I only read the main event and ignored most of the extraneous crossovers. This time around I’m going through all of it, from the main book all the way to forgettable stuff like the Heroes for Hire issues where Humbug goes bersek and rips a baby alien’s head off to the forgettable Punisher: War Journal issues that feature Frank Castle shooting aliens with a sword gun. This is going to be a rough ride.
On the bright side, this week’s reviews are written and drawn by guys like Greg Pak, Peter David, John Romita Jr., and Dale Keown. So while they’re not terrific, they’re at least a lot better than the horrors that await.
