Mongreloids

One example of a mongreloid. They all look different.Bizarre mutated creatures, the mongreloids came about as a result of the race to build the first atomic bombs. They were once normal humans, but became transformed by the experimental radiations of the first Atomic Age.

The mongreloid people vaguely retain their memories as humans, but live in seclusion and hiding. The radiation granted them longevity and special abilities, but at great cost. A mongreloid resembles a human with a variety of animal characteristics. This might include fur, scales, animal claws, and nonfunctional wings. Often, a mongreloid has multiple features that seem put together in a random manner. A typical mongreloid might have a hoof for one foot, a claw for another, bird feathers on his arms, and an apish face, for example.

Feared by society, mongreloids live in city sewers and other dark areas. They are untrusting as outsiders, for it was humans who transformed them in the first place. Nonetheless, mongreloids usually don’t have malicious intent, and heroes who stumble across their hiding places might be able to befriend these misunderstood creatures.

In large groups of mongreloids, most of the creatures are minions. The stats below are for the pack leader and other important mongreloids.
